CHARITY FAIR FLOODS THE MARKET ON MAY DAY IN MALVERN
Connoisseurs of fine living with an eye for a bargain are in for a treat on Friday, 1st May when twenty unique boutique stallholders set out their wares to support local flood heroes and the new air ambulance.
Share their passion for fashion and a flair for fun and games at this first ever May Fair in Malvern - a treasure trove of high style Summery stock and unrepeatable low price bargains. You will find gardening gadgets, great gifts, games and books, birthday presents, kit for children and babies alongside stylish independent designer clothes, wedding hats, shoes, silver and jewellery, as well as bags for beach and picnics. It promises to be a mini department store of value-for-money products and presents, for just one day, in The Elgar Suite at The Abbey Hotel.
Award-winning local actor Bob Clarke (who is playing Fabian in ‘Twelfth Night’ that night at the Theatre) will open the fair at 10am. Later on members of the cast from Malvern Theatres' star production ‘The Naked Truth’, featuring Lisa Riley and Abi Titmuss, will be in attendance. After lunch catch Colwall Community Choir, Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts 2008 winners, before they compete again later in May.
By coming to this original one-day fundraiser everyone in the county and friends from further afield will have a great opportunity to support two vital rescue services - Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue, always at work in the Severn, Avon and Wye Valleys, and Great Western Air Ambulance, ‘the new shape in the skies’ over Gloucestershire, Avon, North Somerset and Wiltshire, literally flying the A&E Department to the accident scene. “The devastation caused by the recent floods could have been so much worse if it hadn’t been for our local heroes.” says organiser Charlotte Carver. “We’re fundraising again to help MISAR and the new air ambulance (which covers the motorway network near us) because both these emergency services rely entirely on the generosity of the public as neither receives state or lottery funding. So every penny needed to fund their essential services has to be raised within our community. These operations cannot carry on without our support so we’d love everyone to know about this glorified coffee morning and little May Fair in GREAT Malvern, to bring a friend and enjoy all the fun of the fair. And the more that people can buy, the more we will be able to benefit these vital services who are saving countless lives in around nine counties right across the Heart of England and into the South West.”
Tickets on the door are £5 with 5-15s at just 50p. Come with friends and save on the cost with Advance Party Tickets: three or more at £4 each including a coffee and free programme. Car park behind The Abbey Hotel. Buy tickets now from ‘Charlotte Carver Charity Fairs’, Bidders Croft, Welland, WR13 6LN. Donations welcome - enquiries to 01684 592179 or via www.bidderscroft.com
